Trasfer exam for the school year 2024/2025
DP 1 (The organizational unit of Gymnázium – Grade 4)

Important information
- If your are interested, please send your application form together with other requested documents to DPcoordinator@gympaba.sk no later than 16 April 2024.
- Application form to DP1 (2024/2025)
- The application form must be signed by BOTH parents/legal guardians, alternatively, the delegation of power in the respective matters is needed for one of the legal guardians. This should be sent together with the application form.
Date of the transfer examination: 23 April 2024
The deadline for publishing the list of successful candidates based on the results of the transfer examination for the school year 2024/25 is April 30, 2024 (any time between 0:00 to 23:59).
Documents to be sent with your application form:
- Previous two years’ report card
- Personal statement (GUIDE)
Requirements:
The transfer examination will test the knowledge of English Language/ Slovak language and Mathematics and the level of critical thinking skills used in sciences and humanities. The selection process will be based on the transfer examination results and a face-to-face interview with a student.
Format of the transfer examination:
- Written tests in:
- Mathematics – 60 minutes (Transfer requirements – Mathematics)
- Slovak literature / English language and literature – depending on Group 1 subject choice – 60 minutes (Transfer requirements Slovak literature / English language and literature)
- Critical thinking skills test (with the focus on Sciences and Humanities) – 60 minutes
- A short interview:
- All applicants will be interviewed to determine their level of commitment and ability to take personal responsibility for their learning, as well as their level of oral English proficiency. The primary purpose of the interview is to consider the applicant’s potential to succeed not only in their individual subjects but also in the core components of CAS, theory of knowledge (TOK) and the extended essay (EE).
